About the Role
Nouveau Care is recruiting on behalf of a well-established social care provider for Social Care Workers to support children and young people in residential settings. This role involves direct care, education support, behaviour management, and team collaboration to ensure the well-being and development of young people in care.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment and Care Planning
- Develop and implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSP), Individual Crisis Management Plans (ICMP), and Placement Plans in line with young people’s Care Plans.
- Support the individual needs of children and young people through structured activities and daily care routines.
Educational Support
- Provide 1:1 and group educational sessions for young people not in external schooling.
- Assist with schoolwork, assignments, and individual educational plans.
Care Provision
- Deliver high-quality residential care aligned with individual care and placement plans.
- Implement daily plans, behaviour management strategies, and crisis intervention protocols as needed.
Documentation and Communication
- Record and monitor young people’s progress using internal systems.
- Liaise with supervisors, professionals, parents/carers, and external agencies as required.
Quality Assurance & Safeguarding
- Ensure children and their families receive the agreed level of care and support.
- Address concerns, complaints, and feedback from young people, parents, and stakeholders.
Training and Development
- Attend mandatory training and ongoing professional development.
- Contribute to the induction and training of new staff and relief workers.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
- Attend team meetings and contribute to policy development and strategic planning.
- Foster a positive team culture and support relief staff and trainees.
- In the absence of a Social Care Leader, take on leadership duties.
Health, Safety, and Administration
- Implement Health & Safety policies and risk assessments.
- Manage petty cash reconciliation and complete administrative tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding young people, staff, and company operations.
Household Responsibilities
- Participate in daily household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Social Care or related field.
- Experience working with young people in a residential or similar setting preferred.
- Understanding of child protection, safeguarding, and behavioural management strategies.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-in shifts.
- Full driver’s licence preferred.
